The 3515B is a first-line test system designed to verify that portable radios, man-pack radios, vehicle and aircraft radios are mission ready. The 3515B can quickly isolate problems and assess performance in a variety of tactical, airborne and data radios. The 3515B is rugged but also lightweight (approximately 8 lbs including battery) and features 4.5 hours of continuous operation on an internal battery. The 3515B also allows the user to test all aspects of the radio system—including the radio’s transmitter and receiver as well as RF cabling and antennas and audio systems —with powerful features typically found only in bench-top equipment. The 3515B also meets MIL-PRF-28800F Class II specifications for humidity, shock, and vibration, with an operating range of -0º C to +50ºC.
