Maury MW - VNA Calibration Kit - Mechanical Calibration Kits Series
- Directly compatible with most commercial VNA’s
- Available as polynomial and characterized device kits
- Measure S-Parameters with uncertainty when used in conjunction with Maury’s Insight software platform
Maury offers coaxial and waveguide VNA calibration kits.
Coaxial calibration kits are offered in Polynomial SOLT, Characterized Device (CD) SOLT, and TRL, depending on the connector series. Where available, CD kits improve calibration accuracy when compared to SOLT kits based on polynomial definitions as each calibration kit is provided with individually characterized short, open and fixed load standards, whose S-parameters can be loaded into commercial VNAs directly or when used with Maury’s Insight™ software platform. When combined with Insight™, users will be able to quantify the uncertainty contribution of their calibration kit to their overall measurements. CD cal kits result in TRL-like accuracy with fixed-load SOLT ease-of-use.

- Calibration-grade metrology standards
- Used for VNA calibration and/or calibration validation
A precision fixed termination (or load) consists of an immovable, (fixed) termination which, when mated to the end of a trans-mission line or cable, absorbs nearly all of the signal energy traveling toward it. An ideal “matched” condition exists when a termination with an impedance value of Z0, is connected to the end of a transmission line or cable that also has a characteristic impedance of Z0. Such an ideal “matched” condition (one with no mismatch between the termination and its mated line or cable) is critical if a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 1.0:1 is to be achieved in a system with a 50 or 75 ohm impedance value. Simply put, the more closely the 1.0:1 ratio is approached, the more accurate the measurements that can be made from a system.

Fixed flush and fixed offset short circuit terminations (shorts) are used to establish reference planes in transmission systems and as key elements in the calibration of vector network analyzers (VNAs). Offset shorts can be used for banded calibrations of VNA. Those with the longest offset are often used to evaluate the calibration effectiveness of a VNA by measuring the effective source match after calibration.
- Excellent temperature and voltage stability
- Units for noise figure meters feature 15.5-dB ± 0.75 dB ENR output
- High-output units for radar and satellite communications system testing feature output between 26 and 35 dB ± 1 dB ENR
The NC3000 Series calibrated coaxial AWGN sources are well suited for receiver testing, noise figure measurements, or applications that require broadband noise and fast switching times. Several models include output isolators, and voltage regulators that provide excellent stability over varying temperature and voltage ranges. The NC3000 Series includes the NC3100 units with 15 dB ENR output for noise-figure meters, and the NC3200 Series high-output noise sources with outputs between 26 and 35 dB ENR for radar and satellite communications system testing.
The VectorStar ME7838 Series broadband VNA offers the widest available single frequency sweep from 70 kHz to 110, (ME7838AX to 125), (ME7838EX to 125), to 145 GHz, and to 220 GHz with mmWave bands to 1.1 THz.
