Schneider Optics - PYRITE LF Liquid Lenses
- Focus tunable liquid lens included
- Large working distance range
- Fast focus within milliseconds
- Large image circle
These lenses are combining an approved Schneider-Kreuznach lens and one of Optotunes Focus Tunable Lenses EL-16-40-TC-5D. They come in two versions for C-Mount and TFL-Mount. To achieve a wide range of working distance the lenses can be combined with extension tubes of 5 mm, 7 mm, 8 mm or 10 mm so the liquid lens can always be used in its optimal operating range.
Working principle with extension tubes
In delivery condition the lens has its optimal working distance starting from infinity. To reach closer distances it is necessary to use an extension tube between lens and camera, so that the liquid lens element can always be used in its comfort zone for focussing. The ranges recommended in the table can additionally be extended in both directions by applying a higher operating current as the imaging power decreases.

Applications & Markets of the PYRITE LF Lenses
Machine vision enables machines to recognise objects, patterns and other visual features through the integration of lenses and image processing.
Machine vision technologies play an important role in the automated sorting of parcels in parcel centers.
Vision technology helps to sort parcels by scanning barcodes to keep logistics processes running smoothly.
Food sorting involves the automatic separation of food products according to size, color, shape and quality.
Environmental Facts of the PYRITE LF lenses
Our PYRITE liquid focus lenses are tested to DIN standards to ensure they meet stringent environmental requirements. These tests check the durability of the liquid focus lenses, their resistance to temperature changes and their ability to withstand shock tests and sinusoidal vibration. This ensures that the industrial lenses are up to the task in demanding industrial applications such as barcode reading or parcel sorting, providing consistent performance and reliability over time.
