What is a Laser Diode?
A laser diode is type of light emitting diode (LED). It is a semiconductor device which includes two different semiconductor materials, with an interface between them. The LWP series Lightwave Probe enables optical measurements for on-wafer and hybrid photonics devices. It features user replaceable fiber pigtails allowing the probe to be optimized for a variety of light delivery and light collection applications including the characterization of topside illuminated photodiodes, Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs), hybrid transmitters and receivers, and LEDs.

The NC520 low voltage (surface mount) noise module is an economic solution for built-in test requirements. It contains complete bias circuits and require no external components.
The surface mount package is suitable for mounting on microstrip. The modules produce extremely flat output power versus frequency characteristic that is insensitive to temperature and voltage variations.
Typical applications for the NC520 module includes built-in test equipment (bite), signal strength meters for cellular, pcs, catv, calibrators, spectrum analyzers, radar warning receivers (rwr), and dither A/D quantization error. Maury can optimize frequency range and output levels for specific applications.
UVC-based disinfection, often called, Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI), is the use of ultraviolet (UV) light to kill or inactivate viral, bacterial, and fungal species. When UV-C light is incident upon the target, the incident photons are absorbed by DNA or RNA, causing inactivation of the DNA or RNA double helix strands through the formation of molecular lesions. When enough of these lesions are created, the replication process is disrupted, and the cell cannot replicate. Absorption by proteins can lead to the breakdown of the organism’s cell walls causing the cell to die. For most commercial applications, replication prevention is sufficient. The UV doses required to prevent replication are much lower than required to kill, making the cost of UV treatment to prevent infection commercially viable.

The NC500 (through-hole) and NC500SM (surface mount) Series noise modules are an economical solution for built-in test requirements. They contain complete bias circuits and require no external components. Some models contain additional gain stages for high power ENR output (51 dB).
