Standex Detect - Ultraminiature Reed Switches (<8mm)
Ultra-Compact Reed Switches for Precision Electronics
The ultraminiature reed switch series offers some of the smallest magnetic switching solutions available, with glass body lengths starting at just 3.95 mm. These switches are engineered for precision and reliability in space-constrained environments, making them ideal for miniaturized electronics and high-density circuit designs.
Despite their compact size, these switches maintain strong electrical performance thanks to advanced contact materials and hermetically sealed construction. Their flat lead design supports automated assembly processes such as surface mounting and tape-and-reel packaging, enabling efficient integration into high-volume production lines.
Commonly used in semiconductor testing, medical devices, telecommunications, security systems, and automotive electronics, these switches provide dependable magnetic actuation in applications where size, sensitivity, and durability are critical.

Reliable Magnetic Switching for High Voltage Applications
The high voltage reed switch series delivers reliable magnetic switching for applications requiring elevated voltage and current handling. Capable of switching up to 10,000 VDC and with breakdown voltages reaching 15,000 VDC, these switches are engineered for high-performance environments such as photovoltaic systems, medical equipment, and automated test systems.
Available in glass body lengths starting at 14 mm, the series includes surface mount (SMD), through-hole, and free-standing options. These reed switches can carry continuous currents up to 15 Amps and pulsed currents up to 30 Amps, making them ideal for proximity, position, motion, and end-limit sensing.
For enhanced durability and simplified integration, these switches can be packaged as high voltage reed relays. Popular relay series such as H, HE, HM, KT, SHV, LI, and BE provide a range of contact configurations and insulation resistance exceeding 10¹³ Ohms, supporting both pick-and-place automation and high-voltage isolation.
Optimized for high-speed signal transmission and minimal signal distortion, these relays feature low off-state capacitance, making them ideal for RF, telecom, and precision measurement applications.
- The BX2 Series of edge-lit backlights provides a highly diffuse source of illumination, packed within a thin and thermally efficient housing.
- The BX2 allows for configuration with polarization or collimation. A backlight configured with collimation is best suited for applications requiring a higher degree of edge clarity when imaging object silhouettes.
- This second edition of our edge-lit backlight series is more than twice as bright as previous BX and CX models.
- As with most planar backlight designs, this product is useful for edge detection, part location & orientation identification, presence & absence, hole detection and object gauging.
Relays engineered to handle voltages above 600V, providing safe and efficient switching for power systems, energy storage, and high-voltage instrumentation.
Single point liquid level sensors are designed to detect fluid at a specific level, typically a critical high or low point. These sensors use a single magnetic float and reed switch to provide a simple, reliable signal when the fluid reaches the designated level.
Available in vertical or horizontal mounting styles, these sensors are ideal for compact installations and are commonly used in tanks, reservoirs, and molded containers. They operate with minimal power consumption and offer high durability, with options for high-temperature resistance, IP-rated sealing, and high-power switching.
Their customizable design, cost-effectiveness, and ease of integration make them a dependable solution for fluid level monitoring across a wide range of industries.
